A little ray of light
I haven’t always been the healthy and happy person you see today. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and arthritis. I was in so much pain all over my body, and on top of that, I was allergic to painkillers. At 33 years old, I was suffering from illnesses that my doctor told me had no cure. One day, desperately searching for relief, I wanted to end my life. I searched online for ways to commit suicide without pain, and I found a blog where someone had written: “If you want to kill yourself, don’t do it before talking to me. ” So I decided to write to the person who posted it, and they replied six months later. In that moment, I understood the importance of being of service—and of offering a timely response.
